I have no idea what to call this but its basically beans and meat.
I was using up some food that was clearly about to go bad, so just threw it all in the frying pan and added beans as I’d run out of sauce.

2 slices of bacon

4 slices of cooked pork/ham (sandwich meat)

4 small hot dog sausages

1 tin of beans

chilly powder and Worcestershire sauce

Chop everything as fine as you can manage, throw the bacon in first as that’s normally raw, fry that till its cooked, and throw in the rest of the chopped meat and sausages, allow to warm through, then pour the tin of beans over add the chilly powder and a splash or two of Worcestershire sauce. Heat till the beans are cooked, it’ll take about 5 mins and serve, top with grated fresh parmasan and eat.

I was actually quite surprised this was actually rather tasty, and really easy to do

Last night I decided I’d cook a meal, but you cant cook for one so had to invite a couple of friends over.
So my choice something simple so chilli or spaghetti. As Helen doesn’t like spicy, the obvious choice is spaghetti, but as she doesn’t like garlic either, she missed out on the garlic bread that I cooked very professionally , but Simon helped eat that so no problem there.

The ingredients

Half an onion, it was quite large, and I don’t like onion, was stinging my eyes too so didn’t fancy chopping the other half

Just 1 clove of garlic, to be nice to Helen but it still needs some

500g of mince, I used pork because that’s what was in the house, but I don’t like beef anyway.

2 rashers of smoky bacon, don’t know what type it was, wasn’t much fat on it and that’s all there was left in the pack that needed using

1 tin of chopped tomatoes.

some oregano

some basil

a splash of Worcestershire source

oh n some oil to fry in

So I started by chopping the onion quite fine, with a mostly blunt knife so it wasn’t as fine as I wanted, and I think the knife was a left handed one too as it wouldn’t cut how I wanted it to. Then smashed and chopped the garlic into itty bitty pieces.
Last thing to cut was the bacon, into small strips so they cook fast.

Heat up the pan, and throw the bacon in, no oil becasue its a none stick pan and there was enough fat and juices to cook in. Once the bacon was browned thew in the onions and cooked them a little till some browned then adde the garlic. and watched Helen run out the kitchen becasue the garlic chose that point to give off its aroma.

After a little time in the pan, I bunged the mince on and let that brown off, or as it was pork, get lighter and trun grey, it looked cooked anyway. Poor in the tomatoes and add the herbs and wostershire source. Oh and some tomatoe puree that I missed of the ingredients.

Gave that a while to warm through and simmer while the pasta, and garlic bread are cooking.
After about 20 mins of cooking the source had dried up a bit much, I should really have topped it up with some pasata (tomatoe source stuff) to keep it going, but I didn’t so it was a little dryer than I’d planned.

All the recipes I’d seen said to cook for about an hour, well I was hungry so we had it after 20 mins, and it still tasted nice No complaints about their being garlic in because you couldn’t taste it, but we did get portions slightly too big, it might have nicely gone round 4 but there was 3 of us.

Followed by a very nice chocolate sponge pudding with chocolate source over it

All in all a good meal

As Andy is so kind to remind us that it is pancake day I will also be having banana and Nuttella pancakes tonight or maybe with some maple syrup.

I will be using my own recipe, rather than the whole measuring thing this is probably more like a French crepe than an English pancake but they’re still nice

1 egg,

1 spoon of sugar (to sweeten things up a little),

2 spoons of flour,

and enough milk to loosen the mix so you can pour it

You’ll get 2 pancakes out of that (I like mine quite thick but a thinner mix will make more pancakes only thinner) which is enough for one person, just multiply the quantities by the amount of people your serving

tip: while cooking pancakes make enough for yourself, the other people and yourself again, then you can eat your first one while your cooking the others and finish off the mix on yourself too

Another night of having to cook for myself from near empty fridges and cupboards.

Ingredients

2 Slices Smoky Bacon

1 Egg

2 Flour Tortillas

All left over from other meals

What I did
Cut the fatty end off the bacon, that’s the bit with less meat if you don’t think its fatty or the bit that’s not the round bit .
Chop the fatty end into thin slices about a cm wide maybe.
Throw the whole lot into a frying pan and fry till the fat crisps slightly.
Crack and fry the egg, both sides.
Warm the tortillas.
When the egg and bacon are cooked, half the egg and split the bacon evenly between the totillas, add ketchup, wrap, eat, enjoy

Another normal sounding meal, well it was going to be till I realised its safer to cut the chicken and cook it in little peices than it is to cook it whole. It was a frozen chichen breast.

Ingredients

chips

chicken breast

cayenne pepper

Tabasco sauce

Worcestershire source

soy source

peanut butter

Method
Put the chips on to cook – see thats easy I use oven chips so a handful of chips on a tray and in the oven for about 20 mins.
wehile the chips are cooking.
Make sure your chickens defrosted (nuked for a few mins) and scut into small bite size peices or chicken nuget size.
Add oil to a hot pan and fry the chicken till its cooked.
Add a fine dusting of teh pepper, and a sprinkle of each source and stir fry your chicken. this is quite a dry mix at the minute as the sources will either be soaked or evaporated, aff a good dolop of peanut butter to the pan and stir making sure the chicken is coated add more oil to thin the mix, be sure to stire it alot, cover the pan till the chips are cooked. I’m not sure if covering the pan amde any difference but I hoped it would keep some mouster in.
Once the chips are cooked put them onto a plate and place the chiken on top pour any source over, be carful this source will be hot and it seemed to stay hot all the time I was eating.

Chicken ona bed of chips, grab a fork and eat

Ok I bet you’re thinking whats so weird about that? Well the answer is nothing I just wanted to add my version.

Ingredients

1 egg

2 heaped spoons of flour

1 spoon sugar

milk

Method
Break the egg into a mixing bowl, add the sugar, whisk the sugar into the egg, add 1 spoon of flour and whisk, add a splash of milk to losen the mixture add the second spoon of floor, whisk until all the flours mixed in, add milk to losen the mix to the right consistency, thin enough to pour. heat up a frying pan (preferably non-stick) and add cooking oil/butter, pour in half the pancake mix and cook till slightly firm. If you’re brake you can toss the pancake, I prefer to just flip it. Cook the other side till its golden brown, and then serve. Repeat with the rest of the mix.

Serving
This makes 2 pancakes, so what I do is put the first one on a plate, and coat it in chocolate (ok its chocolate spread) do this while the second ones s cooking, then place the second one ontop, maybe add more chocolate and fold in half. Eat while theyre still warm.
