I’ve just watch Five’s Bermuda triangle program, apart from the annoying when we draw away the ocean line – no you mapped the ground with ships and satellites you haven’t drained the ocean! – it was quite interesting, until they decided that there’s a space warp there, they then dumb down the science and explain how a warp drive would work and use this to explain how some guys plain travelled at about 2000mph through a storm. This guy flew into what looked like a tunnel in the storm a big electrical storm with weird electronic fog and strange magnetic fields in the area of the triangle.

So he enters this tunnel and the clouds are swirling around him, so fast he sees lines, feels himself accelerate then a feeling of weightlessness, so he entered a cyclone was sucked up to 2000mph and spat out the end, I may not know the science right but I know enough to hazard a guess that if the wind had slowly built up and if there was some magnetism going on maybe the plain could have been accelerated using natural probably re-creatable forces rather than relying on science fiction, dark energy and space warps.

They actually spent about 10/15 minutes explaining the science of a space warp and warp drive, apparently you need a positive dark energy behind a ship and a negative infront, but their description of dark energy makes it to be anti-gravity to negative dark energy would be called gravity, in other words its a gravity drive and needs lots of energy probably more than a single thunderstorm would have generated, which is why Star Trek use a matter anti-matter reaction to power their warp core.

Anyway rant over, I’m going to see if I can figure out who dunnit in CSI: Miami before Horatio gets them

One, two, Freddy’s Comming for you…

OK so its been a while since I bothered writing about a movie so figured it was time considering the amount I’ve been watching I should have a lot to write about.

So here’s the first batch, all seven Nightmare on Elm Street movies, this doesnt include Freddy Vs Jason, which is more recent but isn’t part of the series really.

The movies them selves were pretty good

Of the set the second film was probably the worst, as it lacked any continuity from the first, and pretty much stayed out of the dream world. The 3rd went back into the dream world but things started to get silly with the 4th and 5th. The 6th was set some time after the 5th so new cast again but kept a similar theme and was still ok, even if it was possibly the silliest of the lot.

Last in the set Wes Cravens new nightmare, was possibly the best in the series and wrapped it up pretty well

All in all a pretty good series, even if I’m a little late watchign them

The film itself follows the story of Prince Caspian, who escapes an attempted murder by his uncle and runs out into the forest to be rescued by narnians, it is then the story of how he retakes his kindom with the help of the kings and queens (or 4 children) and all the other supposedly extinct creatures.

good fun film, full of violence in a family way.

The film itself is pretty much more of the same, thieves choose target, thieves break in to get target using elaborate scheme, not much more you can say about it really.

Went snowboarding on Sunday, and discovered that I really am that out of practice, legs ached after the second run up the lift so 2 hours looked set to be tough.
They had the rails out, but didn’t feel confident enough to try that not till I’ve had more practice and my legs don’t feel too tired after the first run!I fell over lots always at the bottom because of the way the snow had gone, and over balancing when I was trying to stop, pretty much every run I was on my knees after stopping… maybe my binding are set wrong… going to blame them anyway
Followed boarding with a Nandos a yummy chicken sandwich followed by over priced chocolate moose (was tiny but nice), seemed to get home later than I expected but nevermind it was still before bedtime

Right so before I set off to go boarding The old ones decided to go LOOKING for a new TV just to get prices that sort of thing, I got home form boarding and we have this huge 42″ LCD sat in the corner of the front room, HD ready widscreen n all that, looks good, it works, just wait till I plug my computer into that… I’m thinking 42″ widescreen Counterstrike shame we’re lacking surround but thats easily corrected, Dads birthday present?

We went to see Zodiac, it was good and quite interesting, there’s not really a lot I can say about this.

The film is based on the actual case files of the Zodiac killer, so if you know about it the film wont come as much of a surprise. I didn’t even know it was a true story till the film started.

The killer kills some people then reports the killing, and even admits to doing it, he then goes on to basically play games with the police and newspapers.

That’s about all you I can say about the film without giving too much away, the film itself was worth watching, not something I’d normally choose to go see (but I didn’t choose it), but still it wasn’t that bad.

The film continues the story not long after the end of the second one, with Jack dead and his friends wanting to rescue him.

The film contains just the right mix of fights and it seems everyone’s keeping secrets. There’s a few funny parts, mostly centred around jack.

I really enjoyed this film and would recommend going to see it, especially after catching up on the first two so you can remember what’s happened.

Went out for my birthday to TGI Fridays and then bowling and I must say the meal was rather good I don’t think anyone had any complaints apart from maybe Scott for getting a few too few chips.

After the meal we went bowling and even though I was playing really bad, it was good fun and we all enjoyed ourselves.

Wednesday after, went to see Spider-man after an ok meal at Pizza hut that involved far too much food, but nevermind it was nice.

The film itself wasn’t as good as the others, maybe its because I’ve only seen them on a small screen but the action seemed to fast in the action scenes you couldn’t really keep up with what was happening, and there was so much more they could have done with the story had they made the film longer and maybe if they’d left out some of the relationship side of it, I know its important to the story but it seemed a bit more than they needed. Was still a good film but maybe after a full meal I wasn’t really in the mood to sit in the cinema, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it on DVD

Went to see the new turtles animated movie on Tuesday, I was quite impressed with it.

The story is set some time after the live action movies, there’s some new evil genius that’s trying to open a portal into hell (or somewhere similar), the turtles them selves are having problem Leonardo”s off in the jungle and the other 3 are barely coping without a leader.

From that basis the stories pretty much them getting to be a team again so they can beat the evil guy, its actually quite enjoyable and the action scenes were really good, being animated they could get away with anything, monsters and lots of being thrown around.

As for the graphics and animation, both were impressive, I was a little disappointed with the people, impossible hourglass figures on the girls that sort of thing, the flesh tones weren’t too bad, still not perfect but that may have been on purpose and to fit the dark cartoon style.

The turtles themselves looked really impressive very well made, can’t really fault them, the world was again impressive even the weather effects looked amazing, at one point there was a fight on a roof in the rain, n one of the turtles was starting down his opponent with the rain bouncing off his head, it really did hit his head though and even formed little drops that ran down his face.

Definitely worth watching if you are or were a turtles fan, or if your not the actions good anyway, and the graphics are amazing.
